Web Version Threads Officially Launched – Phased Out

The web version of Threads has just been launched to users in North America. With this feature Threads can finally be used without having to download a smartphone app. In terms of features it allows profiles, and timelines to be viewed along with the ability to reply to messages uploaded by other users.

The launch was announced by Mark Zuckerberg through his Threads account at exactly 9pm last night. However, the web version of Threads will be rolled out to all users in stages over the next few days.

When it launched early last month, Threads quickly hit 100 million accounts in less than a week. The momentum of Threads usage is now decreasing to 3 million daily active users as many realize that it still lacks various features needed for it to be an alternative to Twitter for example chronological timeline and GIF support.
