America Blocks Sales of AI Chips to Some Middle Eastern Countries

The next war will involve drones and artificial intelligence (AI). In order to prevent their dominance from being threatened by non-allied countries, the United States has imposed barriers to the import of AI chips produced by AMD and NVIDIA to China. Recently, according to Reuters, the United States imposed similar barriers on several countries in the Middle East.

The identity of the countries that are currently blocked is not disclosed. This sales block was filed by NVIDIA recently with AMD also confirming they received the same order from the authorities.

Just a few weeks ago, Saudi Arabia and the UAE reportedly bought hundreds of millions of dollars worth of AI chips to train their own AI. The majority of AI researchers in Middle Eastern countries are Chinese nationals employed by the local government.
