We previously reported on iPhone 15 Pro users starting to report serious heating issues on their devices. For a device that costs more than RM8000, this issue should not happen.
At the same time, the Huantyucheng Apple Store in China reminds iPhone 15, iPhone 15 Plus, iPhone 15 Pro and iPhone 15 Pro Max users not to use Android USB-C cables if they do not want overheating issues to occur.
The reason is the pin layout on the USB-C port Android uses a 9-pin design while Apple uses an 11-pin design. Many users in China say this is Apple's strategy to encourage users to buy their USB-C cables which cost up to RM399.
In theory, USB cables that are already recognized with an e-marker or use the Power Delivery standard are universal and suitable for fast data transfer, fast charging and even video output support. Apple USB-C cables according to the PD standard only have the additional label MFI (Made for iPhone or Made for i Devices).
