ChatGPT Beats Wharton MBA Students In Generating New Business Ideas

The Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania is a business school that has produced figures such as Sundar Pichai, Elon Musk, Jho Low and Donald Trump. His reputation in producing these characters is now being challenged by ChatGPT. In a competition between ChatGPT and students taking Wharton's MBA, humans once again lost.

Wharton students were asked to generate 200 new business ideas while ChatGPT was instructed to generate 400 of the same ideas. ChatGPT was asked to be a completely new idea and also an idea based on other successful business ideas before. After being judged by Professor Christian Terwiesch and Professor Karl Ulrich who are teaching staff at Wharton, 35 of the 40 best ideas were generated by ChatGPT.

In this competition, ChatGPT generates 200 business ideas in just one hour while humans take days. Generative artificial intelligence (AI) is increasing in capabilities and it is time for humans to see the long-term and short-term impact of its users.
