Chromebooks Will Receive 10 Years of Update Support

Google today shared that it will offer updates for Chromebooks for 10 years – a two-year increase over the previous 8 years of support. A Chromebook is a laptop that runs the ChromeOS operating system. It focuses directly on web browsing, and is used with a number of web-based applications on it.

According to Google, Chromebooks released since 2021 and the latest will receive updates for 10 years, effective next year, 2024.

With this step, it simultaneously extends the life of a Chromebook, and ensures that it can be used for a long time without worrying about having to buy a new device to replace it.

In addition, in an effort to ensure that Chromebook batteries also last a long time, Google announced several new features, including one of which is Adaptive Charging and Battery Saver Mode.
