Gas Stations In Germany Mandatory To Install EV Vehicle Chargers

The era of fossil fuel vehicles will end in just one generation. German work aims to have 15 million electric vehicles (EVs) on the road by 2030 compared to 1.5 million now. But before this can be done, the vehicle charging infrastructure needs to be improved first.

German Chancellor Olaf Scholz has announced that 80% of gas stations in Germany will have to offer fast electric chargers with a power of at least 150 kilowatts. There is no period when it has to be done, station criteria and why 20% of stations are excluded. At the time there were 90,000 EV chargers across Germany.

In Malaysia some gas stations already offer EV chargers but in low numbers and not all of them are fast. There have been several incidents of congestion because there are more EVs wanting to charge than available chargers.
