Google today announced that they will end the Google Podcasts application in 2024. Instead, Google is asking users to switch to YouTube Music.
Today, YouTube Music only supports songs, and it will add podcast support by the end of 2023. With this move Google will focus on various things involving the streaming of content on YouTube - whether it involves video or audio.
Google also stated that they will continue to increase investment for podcasts on the YouTube Music platform, as well as simplify the process of discovering podcasts and content through it.
YouTube is ready to become a destination where video content in the form of podcasts is shared, and with this step it will further simplify the process of publishing audio podcasts by users.
