HMD Global Will Release Own Brand Devices

HMD Global is the company that holds the license to manufacture Nokia devices since 2016. Their initial efforts were impressive with the relaunch of Nokia 3310 and Nokia 9 Pureview with unique camera systems. But HMD Global has now announced that they will start producing their own brand devices in the near future.

The announcement was made by the CEO of HMD Global, Jean Francois Baril through his LinkedIn page. According to Baril, HMD Global products will be marketed together with those branded Nokia. Nokia devices will continue to be manufactured until the license expires in 2026.

This can be seen as HMD Global's effort to offer its own brand products if Nokia does not continue the collaboration later. For sure the era of Nokia under HMD Global was interesting but their offerings as of late have been a little disappointing for only launching mid-range devices.
