A few days ago we reported that Intel's Meteor Lake processor chip, originally launched for laptop-shaped devices will also be offered for desktop computers.
Intel has recently issued a statement saying that although it is true that Intel Meteor Lake will be offered for desktop computers, it does not mean that they will create a series of CPUs specifically for that class of computers.
They explain that Meteor Lake chips will be offered in a variety of desktop-class products, such as compact computers and AIO desktop computers. In short, yes, it will be present for computers with a desktop design, but it will not be offered or sold like the usual Intel CPU options.
The use of laptop computer processing chips in the design of desktop computers is not something new, but the previous attempts were seen as less successful because of its performance which could not meet the performance requirements of a desktop computer.
However, the development of CPU technology has been seen to be very rapid in recent years, and it would not be surprising if Intel finally succeeded in using the Meteor Lake chip in an AIO computer that can be used to at least perform daily tasks in the office or leisure activities at home without need to worry about the problem of time lag and performance.
