Apple iPhone 15 Pro Max is equipped with a camera capable of optical zoom up to 5X. This is better than the iPhone 15 Pro which is only up to 3X. This is done through a new prism mechanism that was never used in previous iPhones. Many might have hoped that the 15 Pro Max would have zooming capabilities as good as Android flagships but unfortunately it doesn't.
According to Apple's official website, the iPhone 15 Pro Max camera can only zoom up to 25X while on the iPhone 15 Pro it is up to 15X which is the same as on the 14 Pro last year. All of this is done through a fully digital zoom system.
The zoom level is low when compared to the Galaxy S23 Ultra which can do 100X digital zoom and the Xiaomi 13 Ultra up to 120X digital zoom. Although this year's iPhone camera is better than last year's model, Apple is still not ready to provide zoom capabilities as good as Android.
