iPhone 16 And 16 Plus Will Not Be Equipped With A17 Pro Chip Next Year

The Apple A17 Pro processing chip is the most powerful so far for a mobile device as it is the first to use a 3nm design and also supports console games for both iPhone 15 Pro. The iPhone 15 and iPhone 15 Plus use the same chip as the iPhone 14 Pro, the A16 Bionic.

Next year, Apple will reportedly bring the A17 chip to the iPhone 16 and iPhone 16 Pro. However, it is not a Pro version, instead Apple is said to be present with a specially designed chip for these two regular iPhone models. This chip is also said to use TSMC's 3nm design, just a cheaper process than the A17 Pro.

If this happens, it will be the first time Apple has developed a chip specifically for a non-Pro regular model iPhone. The iPhone 16 and iPhone 16 Plus are also expected to remain with the Dynamic Island design, 8GB of RAM memory, possibly supporting ProMotion and most likely no support for playing console games. Apple's 3nm processing chip is said to be used until the A19 series before switching to a 2nm build.
