Lenovo Legion Go Now Official – Powered by AMD Ryzen Z1 Extreme, PureSight Display, 1TB SSD

Lenovo has today officially announced the arrival of their first mobile gaming device, the Lenovo Legion Go after information about it has been trickling in for the past few months.

Starting with the specifications of this console, Lenovo Legion Go will be powered by the same AMD Ryzen Z1 and Z1 Extreme processing chips used in the ASUS ROG Ally console, with 16GB of LPDDR5X memory and 1TB PCIe 4.0 SSD storage. To add storage to this device, it is also equipped with a MicroSD card reader that can support up to 2TB of storage.

In terms of display, the Legion Go houses an 8.8-inch QHD+ resolution Lenovo PureSight IPS screen with a fast refresh rate of 144Hz. This display also has a brightness value of 500 nits and can process 97 percent of the DCI-P3 color gamut.

It is also operated using the Windows 11 operating system, which allows users to house various computer game warehouses in it, such as Steam, Epic Games Store and so on.

The uniqueness of this Lenovo Legion Go comes in the ability of its side Legion TrueStrike controller to be removed and used wirelessly, similar to what is offered on the Nintendo Switch console. In the meantime, the analog controller part also uses a Hall Effect switch that reduces the issue of "joystick drift" and also improves the accuracy of the control device compared to the use of the usual analog controller.

This console is also loaded with a 49.2Wh battery that can be charged up to 70 percent through the Super Rapid Charge charging system in just 30 minutes. To assist in the cooling of the Legion Go, the Lenovo Coldfront cooling system is used, which consists of a liquid crystal polymer cooling fan with 79 blades used to flow heat from the console's components to the outside.

In terms of I/O, Lenovo Legion Go also comes with two USB Type-C plugs that allow users to charge and install accessories on this console at the same time. This Type-C plug also supports DisplayPort 1.4 and PowerDelivery 3.0 connections. In the meantime, from the aspect of wireless connection, this console also supports WiFi 6E and Bluetooth 5.2.

Lenovo also announced that the Lenovo Legion Go console will go on sale in November 2023 with a starting price of 799 Euros (~RM4000). For now it is still unknown whether this console will enter the local market at the same time or not.
