The Lotus Emeya was launched today and it is an electric Grand Tourer (GT) car with 905 horsepower. It is the third electric vehicle launched by Lotus after last year's Evija hypercar and Eletre SUV.
Emeya is equipped with two motors but Lotus has not announced the capacity or the distance it can travel. It does however support 350kW DC fast charging. With this, a travel distance of up to 150km can be reached after charging for just five minutes.
It is equipped with four doors and can carry up to five passengers. However, it can reach a maximum speed of 250 km/h while the 0-100 acceleration time only takes 2.8 seconds. This makes the Emeya one of the fastest GTs ever produced.
Emeya will be manufactured in Wuhan China through a factory owned by Geely. The price has not been announced but Lotus says the selling price will be competitive with the price of the Elektre which is marketed in Malaysia at a price of RM800,000.
