Malaysia Census 2020 : 500,000 People Access Internet Through Other People's Homes, 11.8 Million Through Mobile Data

 


Today, many people use smartphones to access the internet. This matter, confirmed again through the latest data from the 2020 Malaysian Census, shows 11.8 million people using mobile data to access the internet. This figure is from 13.6 million respondents aged 15 and above.


This also shows that smartphones are now one of the main ways for local people to access the internet. This is followed by internet access at home - where there are 5.3 million users who use it to access the internet.


2.6 million respondents also stated that they access the internet at work. Other access locations that are also used for internet access include free internet access facilities (0.8 million people), education centers (0.7 million people), other people's homes (0.5 million people) and community internet access facilities (0.4 million people).
