A few days ago we reported that MAS will allow passengers to bring their own food supplies following their catering issues causing delays on some of their flights. This caused rumors that MAS no longer offers in-flight meals on social media. MAS has now released an official statement saying they will continue to offer food to passengers but with some changes.
First of all prepackaged meals will be offered on domestic flights. Meanwhile, in international flights, menu changes will be made depending on the route.
But they confirmed special food orders (due to diets), Chef-on-Call, food upgrades and pre-ordering certain foods will not be offered at this time with no date when they will be returned. However customers are still allowed to bring their own food as long as it adheres to the guidelines safety guidelines that have been established and are halal.
MAS terminated their over 20-year catering contract with Brahim's Food Services starting September 1, which caused the food supply issue in the aircraft.
