Meta is now reportedly considering launching paid versions of Facebook and Instagram for the European market – allowing users to use the service ad-free.
This step may be taken by Meta in line with various regulations set by the European Union regarding user privacy. It says Meta will continue to offer ad-supported versions for Instagram and Facebook in Europe – but users will also be given the option to use it ad-free.
Today, YouTube is ready to do just that – where users can subscribe to YouTube Premium and use the video service without any ads.
Offering an ad-free option would allow them to escape some of the restrictions imposed by the European Union - but it is not yet known how many would be willing to pay for it.
