Microsoft has now made a surprise and announced that it will end support for Visual Studio IDE for users of Apple computers, i.e. Mac. The software will continue to receive security update support until August 31, 2024, after which no further support will be provided.
Microsoft says the software can still be installed after that date, but no updates and new support will be added to it.
For users who want to keep using it in development, you may need to use Visual Studio IDE for Windows through a virtual machine on Mac, or you can also try the VS Code plug-in offered.
