Notepad is a note-taking application that is already present built into Microsoft's operating system, namely Windows. Since Windows 11 was introduced various new things have been introduced such as a more modern design and even tab support on Notepad.
In addition, recently, Microsoft announced that Notepad is currently testing the autosave feature. In Notepad version 11.2307.22.0, Microsoft states that every time this application is closed all the user's notes will be saved and the next user can continue typing or editing.
Not only that, if the user uses multiple tabs simultaneously – each tab will also be restored once Notepad is relaunched. Microsoft also allows users to choose whether to turn this feature on or off. If turned off, the user can start a new note every time this application is opened.
For now this feature is limited to Windows 11 Insider users in the Dev and Canary channels. There is no information when this feature will be offered to the public. Most likely in the next Windows 11 update. Let's wait together.
