Panasonic LUMIX G9II Launched With 25.2MP Sensor And 5.8K ProRes Recording

 


Panasonic has announced the launch of a new mirrorless camera through the LUMIX G9II. The new camera has a larger sensor and improved AI-powered autofocus system, as well as a new image processing engine.



The LUMIX G9II uses a new 25.2-megapixel Live MOS sensor and a new image processing engine for the purpose of producing high-quality images with natural textures. This is matched with hybrid PDAF technology that enables accurate automatic focus especially for fast moving subjects. There is also new AI recognition technology for real-time autofocus recognition for better accuracy in identifying subjects.



Through this sensor the camera can also record 4:2:0 10-bit 5.8K video with a 4:3 aspect ratio as well as 5.7K (17:9) video which allows for more flexible frame selection. At the same time, it also offers slow motion recording up to 120p/100p in 4:2:0 10-bit Cinema 4K or UHD 4K format, in addition to Apple ProRes video recording capabilities.



In addition, this camera also has image stabilization built into the body, which also uses Advanced Active I.S. for video image stabilization with perspective distortion correction. The ability to record continuously up to 60FPS and the camera will be marketed from the end of October with a price of AU$3299 (~RM9,936).
