Project Gutenberg Launches 5000 Audible Audio Books Using AI for Free

Project Gutenberg has published over 5000 audiobooks in their catalog for free through the popular streaming platform What makes this collection interesting is that it is read by a voice generated using artificial intelligence (AI). So Project Guthenberg got help from Microsoft and MIT.

AI systems are used because their collections are absent from the source and use the same format. There was an error when opening the scan. So an AI that is smart enough to read their collection and at the same time sound like a human is needed. Only 5000 audiobooks have been produced so far.

Project Gutenberg has over 70,000 books that have entered the public domain so there is no issue of intellectual property infringement. It was started by Michael S Hart in 1971 to digitize the document of the declaration of independence of the United States so that it can be seen by all.

For those who want to listen to the Project Guthenberg audio book, it can be accessed via Spotify, Google Podcast, Apple Podcast, and Internet Archive via the link below.
