Raspberry Pi 5 Introduced With More Powerful Processor And GPU

 


After more than four years since the Raspberry Pi 4 was launched, yesterday the Raspberry Pi 5 was announced before sales opened at the end of October. On the latest version of the new BCM2712 processor equipped with four Cortex-A76 CPU cores that use 16nm technology. This is coupled with the VideoCore V GPU. With this the Raspberry Pi 5 has more power but at the same time consumes less energy.



System RAM also now supports faster LDDR4X. A new self-designed chip RP1 is also used as an I/O controller. This allows the Pi 5 to be equipped with 2X USB 3.0 , 2x USB 2.0, gigabit ethernet, camera support, four-lane PCI Express 2.0 and support for two 4K 60FPS displays. In addition to selling Raspberrry Pi 5 PCB boards, some accessories such as cooling systems, plastic frames, daughter boards for M.2 accessories and more.



In addition to this, the new Raspberry Pi 5 operating system will also be launched next October. Raspberry Pi 5 sells for $60 (~RM281) for the 4GB version and $80 (~RM375) for the 8GB version.
