Xiaomi has now announced the offering of another new device for the local market, the Redmi 12 variant with 5G network support. Offering basic specifications along with 5G network access, however, this Redmi 12 5G is only offered through Celcom or Digi postpaid plans only at a price of RM49.
Through the shared poster, the Redmi 12 5G is seen listed at a price of RM1099 for the local market. The price can be said to be quite high compared to the 4G model which costs RM599 in Malaysia.
Redmi 12 comes with a 6.79-inch FHD+ LCD screen, Snapdragon 4 Gen 2 chip, 8GB RAM memory and 256GB storage.
It also comes with a dual rear camera with a 50MP main sensor, in addition to an 8MP front camera. Completing it is a 5000mAh battery with 18W charging support.
For now, Xiaomi has not said when it will be sold separately without any telecom plans. It is only offered together with Celcom MEGA 98 (RM98 per month) or Digi Postpaid 90 (RM90 per month) under a 24-month contract, and you need to buy a Redmi 12 5G at a price of RM49 under the plan.
