Resident Evil Village On iPhone 15 Pro Max Is Limited To 720P And 30FPS

Many questions arise regarding the ability of the iPhone 15 Pro Max and 15 Pro to run the games Resident Evil 4, Resident Evil Village and Death Stranding. Apple simply announced that this smartphone is capable of running console games without sharing more detailed information. This mystery is partially answered through this phone review video by Chinese YouTuber Zhong Wenze that was published yesterday.

In the Resident Evil Village game video, the graphics settings are only 720×1560 pixels and the frame rate is limited to 30 FPS. HDR mode can be activated by the user. All these settings can be changed by the user through the game settings menu. Other settings that can be changed are model quality, lighting quality, environment quality and see how much GPU RAM is being used.

In terms of graphics, it can be seen that the resolution is lower when the iPhone 15 Pro Max is connected to a TV. The image looks softer and the anti-aliasing effect is also not very good. Serrations on the geometry can be seen. However, for a game on a smartphone, the quality of the graphics is better than the usual visual quality.

It's too early to say if this will be the final graphics when Resident Evil Village, Resident Evil 4, Death Stranding and Assassin's Creed Mirage roll out to the iPhone 15 Pro series. Usually graphics optimization will be done by the developer post-launch.
