Samsung And LG Agree To Support Their Own Internet Of Things Devices

Samsung and LG are two big companies from South Korea that compete in the same market. This weekend the two companies agreed to allow the internet of things (IoT) devices they produce to use the same applications. This means that LG devices can be controlled via Samsung SmartThing and Samsung devices can be controlled using LG ThinQ.

Also supported is Vestel's release ecosystem using the Veezy application. This is Samsung's effort to support the IoT ecosystem of Home Connectivity Alliance (HCA) members. At this time the support will only involve these three brands first for customers in the United States, Korea, U.K, Germany, France, Italy, Spain and Turkey.

HCA is a member association of AEG, American Standard Heating and Air Conditioning, Arçelik, Beko, The Electrolux Group, Frigidaire, Haier, GE Appliances, Grundig, LG Electronics, Resideo Technologies, Inc., Samsung, Trane Residential and Vestel.
