WhatsApp now offers a new update that allows select users to use avatars during video calls. Called the video avatar calling feature, its introduction is thought to be interesting as it not only helps boost confidence in general. It even protects the user's privacy by hiding the size of the appearance in certain situations.
Its use is also more or less the same as the video avatar calling feature on Instagram and Facebook Messenger. Where facial expressions and mouth movements will move directly. It's just not yet clear whether, users can only use the available avatars, or different themes are also provided. In the meantime, users are also said to be free to switch back to normal video mode easily at any time.
It is currently available to a select number of beta users first, before rolling out more widely to more users in the coming weeks.
