Shell Opens Largest Electric Vehicle Charging Station In China

Shell today announced they have opened the world's largest electric vehicle charging station under them, in Shenzhen, China. This charging station is operated under the cooperation of Shell and BYD, and has 258 vehicle charging points on it.

This charging station is located about 2.5 kilometers from the Shenzhen Airport Terminal, and has successfully charged more than 3,300 electric vehicles a day during its test phase.

Like the Shell gas station, this charging station is also equipped with a Shell Cafe retail space. This will allow vehicle users to relax while waiting for their vehicle to be fully charged. Shell also uses solar-generated energy to power this station.

Shell says it now has over 40,000 electric vehicle charging points globally, and aims to reach 200,000 charging points by 2030.
