Snapdragon 7s Gen 2 Chip Launched – Focus on Mid-Affordable Devices


 Snapdragon 7s Gen 2 was officially introduced with a focus on affordable mid-range devices. Through it it uses a construction based on TSMC's 4nm technology, which is said to be less powerful than the previously announced Snapdragon 7+ Gen 2.



In particular, it is an eight-core chip that combines four Cortex A78 performance cores with a speed of up to 2.4GHz and four Cortex A55 efficiency cores at 1.95GHz. This is also matched with Adreno 710 GPU modem-RF system and Snapdragon X62 5G, which in time also offers WiFi 6 and bluetooth 5.3 connectivity.


The new chip also supports memory configurations of up to 12GB of LPDDR5-3200 RAM, which is also compatible with LPDDR4x-213 memory likely aimed at lowering the phone's offering cost. Also supported is UFS4.0 storage, in addition to FHD+ display at a refresh rate of up to 144Hz.



The ability to record video reaches 4K/30FPS with HDR, which at the same time also offers support for 10-bit color depth, HLG, HDR10. Not only that, the 12-bit Qualcomm Spectra ISP is also included for more detailed photo reproduction, with smooth zoom and parallel processing.


In addition, it also features Snapdragon Sound support which is compatible with aptX Lossless for clearer audio capabilities without problems. Redmi Note 13 Pro is the first device that will use this processing chip.
