Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 May Come In 3nm And 4nm Versions

Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 will be launched during the Snapdragon Summit event next month. Previous information confirms that this Android 2024 flagship chip will use TSMC's 3nm technology. But a leaked document via the gamm0burst site shows that the chip will also be offered in TSMC's 4nm version.

4nm technology is used on Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 now. There is no information as to why this was done but it is most likely because the factories producing 3nm chips are now fully used for Apple's needs. The A17 Pro chip and the Apple M3 series will be manufactured using TSMC's 3nm technology.

To what extent the truth of this report will be known in another month. But it's no secret that TSMC gives Apple special treatment if it uses their foundry.

The question is whether the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 3nm will be marketed as Snapdragon 8+ Gen 3 while the Snapdragon 8 gen 3 4nm will be marketed as Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 only. We are going to the Snapdragon Summit next month so stay tuned for our report later.
