Sony's new LYTIA sensor is likely to be the hottest sensor on Android devices this year. As the world's largest camera sensor manufacturer, Sony's expertise in the photography arena cannot be denied. Recently Oppo and Sony announced a collaboration in the development of the latest LYTIA sensor.
The dual-layer sensor is a continuation of the sensor used on the Xperia 1 V launched earlier this year. With dual-layer transistors it can offer better night mode recording performance because it can capture more light. Oppo becomes the second company under BBK Electronics to collaborate with Sony. Vivo first made a similar announcement last May for their X100 series.
