The Sony Burano camera was launched yesterday with it being marketed in the same film camera category as the Sony Venice series. This camera is equipped with a 35mm full frame sensor with a size of 41.9 MP capable of recording video up to 8.6K resolution. It supports the same CineAlta color system as Venice.
Burano uses a PL-mount lens and can also use an E-mount when needed. The stabilization system is of the three-axis IBIS type. Meanwhile, the AF system is a hybrid type of PDAF and contrast.
A 3.5″ TFT screen is also included. According to Sony, this camera supports recording in X-OCN(LT), XAVC H Intra HQ, XAVC H Intra SQ, XAVC H Long, XAVC Intra, and XAVC Long formats. The weight of the camera is 2.4 kilograms. Pre-orders for the Sony Burano have opened and it can be purchased at a price of $24,999 (~RM117,000) apiece. The camera will only go on sale in the fall of 2024.
