WhatsApp Denies Report Saying It Will Add Ads To Messaging Service

The head of the WhatsApp division has now denied an FT report which stated that Meta is considering adding ads to the messaging app. For information, Meta had previously expressed the intention to bring advertising on WhatsApp, but the matter was postponed.

Until now, WhatsApp is a service under Meta that does not generate revenue through services for public users. On the other hand, WhatsApp charges service charges for API sharing, as well as some WhatsApp Business features.

It is not yet known what WhatsApp plans to generate income. For information, at the initial launch of WhatsApp, it was offered as a paid subscription – but that strategy was discontinued after a few years, and subsequently WhatsApp was taken over by Meta.

This @FT story is false. We aren't doing this.

Also it looks like you misspelled Brian's name… https://t.co/Z47z9FC5yu
