As previously announced by Elon Musk, the Circles feature on X will be discontinued starting October 31. After that date the feature can no longer be accessed and users in Circles can no longer be added.
Circles was introduced in August last year with it allowing sharing of information to up to 150 people only. With this, a more personal sharing can be done without having to worry about being entered by an unknown individual.
The step to turn off this feature was taken probably because the focus wanted to be on Communities. This is not the first feature that has been turned off by X. Previously, the Fleets feature which is like Stories was also stopped due to not being used by many users.
