Now after five years of launch, Mi Box S received a new operating system update which is Android TV 12. Xiaomi skipped three generations of Android TV, because the last time Mi Box S was updated was with Android TV 9.
Android TV 12 will bring a more user-friendly interface that is similar to Google TV but lighter. This version will also focus on content recommendations to users. Just for now, you are not encouraged to update your TV box because many people report audio problems and the Mi Box S keeps stopping working.
In the current market, Xiaomi and realme TV boxes/dongles are among the best value in the market. Although the update support is not very clear, but it is a good option for an affordable price.
