5 Winners of the OPPO Inspiration Challenge 2023 Program Take Home Grants Worth USD $50,000

 


The global OPPO Research Institute Innovation 2023 accelerator program finally drew its curtain today with five groups announced as the main winners.



The final program which took place at Changi Exhibition Centre, Singapore today also saw each winner receive a prize in the form of a project grant worth USD $50,000 (~RM237,100.00). In addition to various opportunities to help further develop their ideas including commercialization and production, strategic partnerships, investment and exposure at global technology events.



Looking in general the presentation of the whole idea is more conceptual of health, biodiversity and diversity that is able to provide interesting technological solutions. All of the ideas have also been carefully evaluated by professional judges based on four criteria, namely feasibility, innovation and originality, long-term potential and social value.


A total of 15 startup companies were shortlisted, but only five of them were chosen as the main winners. Here is the full list of winners along with the ideas presented at the program this year:-



Eco-friendly Packaging Solution for OPPO Smartphones by Bluepha, China – A sustainable eco-friendly solution through the use of renewable bio-based materials. Through it they produce a natural alternative as a replacement for conventional plastic known as Bluepha PHA (Polyhydroxyalkanoates). It is a type of natural polymer from raw and renewable materials.


Contactless Health Monitoring Technology by Aiverest, China – A solution for continuous monitoring of users' physical health in daily life. It allows users to know the health status of themselves and their families at any time, to avoid illness. Specifically focusing on self-monitoring at home to monitor various types of body disorders such as heart readings, heart rhythm, breathing and sleep patterns.


Surplus Wool for Protective Packaging by Woola, Estonia - Solving the problem of plastic waste pollution through the use of excess sheep wool to replace padding or bubble wrap. In a simple sense it works as an additional protection used to protect and preserve the quality of an item during delivery.


Next-gen Didplays with Perovskite MicroLED by SkiteLight, China – Full color Microdisplay technology based on Chalcogenide MicroLEDs. They provide an alternative through perovskite LED displays that will display brighter colors and potentially be more energy efficient. At the same time, it also reduces total costs and simplifies the production process to speed up the production cycle.

Orbit Permanent Magnet-based 3D Tracking Technology by Ommo, US – The pioneer of permanent magnet-based 3D tracking technology that provides a six-degree-of-freedom (6DOF) measurement system in real time up to 1000 times per second in almost any environment.

The award ceremony also received cooperation from Qualcomm, GSMA 5G IN, Amazon Web Services, and LinkedIn as program partners. For the record, 687 proposals have been received from 66 countries/regions since May 8 until the closing date of the program on June 30. It was then followed by three regional demo performances that took place in Bangkok, Boston and Shenzhen in early August.
