The Deputy Prime Minister has now shared that the government aims to ensure that the 5G coverage rate in rural areas reaches 50%, at least by the middle of 2024.
At the same time, the government will also strive to ensure that 5G coverage in rural areas reaches 85% by the end of 2024. With this step, it will ensure that rural residents are not left behind in enjoying the 5G network.
5G networks are expected to benefit more enterprises and factories in automating and increasing productivity – in addition to bringing faster network coverage for general users.
Overall, the government aims to reach 80% of the populated areas in Malaysia by the end of 2023.
