5G Network Customers In Malaysia Want Services That Benefit From Additional Speeds


 Ericsson is a local communications equipment supplier, and one of the companies that has helped in developing the 4G and 5G network infrastructure in Malaysia.


Recently, they have released a global report on customer usage patterns of 5G networks called "5G Value: Turning Performance into Value" which mediated the potential value of 5G network services to existing users, as well as those interested in starting to use the network. the fast internet.


The report shows that most users have started subscribing to 5G network services not only because it is here to take advantage, but also has shown improvements in terms of quality for a number of mobile internet services, such as better video streaming quality at high resolution, updates and usage faster and more stable mobile gaming as well as clearer and better quality voice and video calls.


For the Malaysian market, a sample representing 14 million mobile internet users in Malaysia shows that five million smart device users are already using devices with 5G support, but still have not subscribed to a plan with a 5G network so far.


16 percent of the survey participants said they still use 4G devices that are two years old and older, but want to upgrade their devices to something that supports 5G networks within 6 months.


The report also said that users of 5G networks in Malaysia want different offers from 4G subscriptions, such as higher data quotas, exclusive software subscription bundles and even plan subscriptions with guaranteed minimum speeds.


The Chief Executive Officer of Ericsson Malaysia, David Hägerbro said that Malaysia already has a world-class 5G internet network and the average customer experience shows higher satisfaction compared to the use of 4G network services.


Even so, it should also be noted that the Minister of Communications and Multimedia Fahmii Fadzil has also said that although the coverage of the 5G network has now increased to 70 percent in populated areas, only 4.2 percent of those are using the 5G network plan so far.
