Android 14 Launched – Launching Today For Pixel Devices, And Coming To Other Brands

Google today officially launched the Android 14 operating system, and also offered the new generation AOSP source code based on Android 14.

Along with that, Google announced Android 14 will be rolling out today to select Pixel devices. The same update will also come to devices from other manufacturers this year, including Samsung, iQOO, Nothing, OnePlus, Oppo, Realme, Sharp, Sony, Tecno, Vivo and Xiaomi.

Android 14 focuses on several things in the operating system - especially on the performance and also the efficient rate of the operating system. It now supports faster app launches, through app cache optimization.

Android 14 also brings more customization based on a user's taste, including making text up to 200% larger on the device. In addition, it now supports 10-bit Ultra HDR for photos.

Privacy is also given attention, where users can check a number of things involving data sharing on a specific page and control it better. Users also need to give permission if an application wants to run an activity in the background.

Users can also modify the background image of the key screen according to their taste, and interestingly, Google includes background image generation support in Android 14 in making a background image unique to you only.

Other features included include support such as Flash Notification which lights up a flashlight for notifications, and also support for using an Android phone as a webcam.

With this announcement, let's all look forward to various manufacturers now competing in offering the Android 14 update to their released devices.
