BlackBerry Plans To Open Cyber Security Center In Malaysia – First In The Asia Pacific Region


 Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim received a courtesy visit from the Malaysian Canadian High Commissioner yesterday evening, including meeting a number of parties based in Canada, such as BlackBerry.



In the meeting, BlackBerry expressed its intention to open a BlackBerry Cyber Security Center of Excellence in Malaysia - which will also make it the first in the Asia Pacific region.


For information, BlackBerry is famous for offering smartphones around more than a decade ago. However, its popularity declined after that, making BlackBerry focus more on offering security services.


The opening of such a center in Malaysia will also continue to expand the development of local talent, in addition to leading to an overflow of positive effects in the arena of the securities industry in Malaysia.
