During Budget 2024 today, the government also announced that it will speed up and speed up the development of the National Digital Identity (IDN) as a trusted self-verification platform.
With the support of the National Digital Identity, it is expected to facilitate the integration of identity for the use of government and private affairs. This will further increase digitization in Malaysia, and facilitate various matters in the office as well as online. The Government stated that the GovTech Nucleus Unit has been created to build internal expertise – which will also facilitate the development of the National Digital Identity, as well as other cost-optimized applications.
For now, several parties have started to develop their own digital identity platforms. One of them is Pos which has recently shown support for IDsaya.
With this new partnership, perhaps we will see the introduction of the initial phase of IDN as early as 2024.
