Budget 2024 – MYStartup Portal Announced To Make Malaysia the Southeast Asia Startup Hub

Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim announced a RM28 million fund for the formation of the MYStartup portal which will be a single window to bring together start-up companies in Malaysia. This initiative will optimize the RM200 million fund under various funding agencies and venture capital under one platform.

Through MYStartup, the government aims for Malaysia to become a top 20 country in the start-up ecosystem by 20230. It is also hoped to make Kuala Lumpur a hub for digital industries and start-ups for the Southeast Asian region.

With technology companies now becoming economic generators in several major countries in the world, the target of becoming the hub of the Southeast Asian region is seen as a continuation of the efforts at the beginning of the formation of the Multimedia Highway Corridor more than two decades ago.
