Budget 2024 – RM 19.7 Billion For The Purchase Of Armored Vehicles, Helicopters And Hovercraft

 


The Ministry of Defense received a large allocation of RM19.7 billion this year which is an increase of RM2 billion compared to the previous year. This allocation will be used for the purchase of 12 new RMAF helicopters, 60 infantry armored vehicles, 50 HMLTV vehicles, 6 hovercrafts and 733 more support vehicles of various types.



The work of refurbishing two submarines as well as the procurement of LMS ships for TLDM will also continue. PDRM's old assets will also be replaced with 7 twin-engine aircraft and 5 light helicopters. 45 units of various types of Army boats will also be improved as well as 9 new generation patrol boats and Malaysian Maritime Enforcement Agency (MMA) interceptor boats.


Lastly, RM400 million is provided to maintain and repair the Armed Forces Family House, RM20 million is also provided to upgrade the sewerage system of the Army Camp in phases.
