Sony this morning announced a cloud video game streaming service directly to the PlayStation 5 console for PlayStatuon Plus Premium subscribers. Through this service, games can be played directly from the cloud without first being installed on the PS5 console. The first five streamable games from the PS5 catalog are Marvel's Spider-Man: Miles Morales, Horizon Forbidden West, Ghost of Tsushima, Mortal Kombat 11, and Saints Row IV.
In addition, Resident Evil 4, Dead Island 2, Genshin Impact, Fall Guys, and Fortnite games already purchased by customers can also be streamed. Customers can choose to stream at 4K, 1440p, 1080p, or 720p resolution with a choice of 60 FPS and HDR support or not. Audio is also chosen between 5.1 and 7.1 along with Tempest 3D Audiotech.
With this offering, PS5 has the same capabilities as Xbox Cloud gaming. This service will be offered to PS Plus Premium customers in Japan starting October 17, in Europe starting October 23 and North America starting October 30. There is no information about its offerings in the Southeast Asia region at this time.
