DJI Zenmuse L2 Launched With LiDAR System

DJI has announced the new Zenmuse L2 designed specifically for precise aerial mapping uses and needs. The introduction is also targeted at professionals who own DJI RTK Matrice 300 or Matrice 350 RTK drones for better 3D data collection capabilities. In addition to being compatible with DJI Terra software for more generic data processing.

Next, a LiDAR sensor, a self-developed IMU system, a 4/3 CMOS RGB camera and a three-axis gimbal also complement this drone. The IMU system is said to be able to offer an increase in detection range of up to 30% better than the previous model. Apart from that, the operating height is also now extended up to 120 meters, while the cloud point release rate can reach a maximum of 240,000 points per second.

The 4/3 CMOS RGB camera used also comes with a mechanical shutter and the pixel size reaches 3.3 μm for better imaging quality. There is also support for the 5 Returns feature that allows more data to be captured in a compact area, while also being compatible with DJI Pilot 2 for various current operating display modes.
