DNB Launches My5G Portal Experience Center To Demonstrate Local 5G Network Capabilities

The 5G network has been developed since 2019 and will be officially introduced to Malaysians at the end of 2021, and to date, it is seen that the network can now be used by around 70 percent of populated areas throughout Malaysia.

The largest telecommunication companies in Malaysia have also started offering their own network plans, but so far, the use of the network is still low, at a rate of 7.2 percent of the people, as of the end of September 2023.

For this reason, Digital Nasional Berhad (DNB) has opened a My5G Portal experience center that showcases 50 use cases and solutions covering 12 industries such as healthcare, smart cities, public safety, surveillance and security, manufacturing automation, logistics, mobility and retail.

This experience center is a collaboration between DNB and Ericsson to make it easier for the public, owners of small and medium companies and also various government parties to see for themselves how this 5G network with fast internet connection can benefit their lives and industries every day.

The My5G Portal experience center was inaugurated by the Minister of Communications and Digital Fahmi Fadzil, who said that this experience center can reflect the important role played by 5G in driving the country's economic growth, creating job opportunities and improving the quality of life of the people.

For example, DHL and CelcomDigi have recently announced a collaboration where the logistics company uses 5G networks to use drones to automate their warehouse inventory management.

The My5G Portal website and experience center will open on October 27 where the public can reserve a slot to visit the experience center for free. It is located on the ground level of Exchange 106, Tun Razak Exchange and is open daily from 10am to 6pm.
