Elon Musk has now shared that the X (or formerly Twitter) algorithm is trying to optimize so that users spend more time on X. This will make sharing links on the platform less likely to get attention or reach.
Elon Musk explained further, if the user clicks and leaves the application, then the time spent on the platform will continue to decrease. To overcome this, Elon Musk encourages sharing with longer writing directly on the platform.
This step is also present in parallel with the changes that have been implemented in X, where the link sharing no longer displays the title of a link - but instead only displays the image and domain name.
It is not yet known how this move will affect the X usage method that has often been a reference for many in getting the latest news before.
