Google today announced a new category for Chromebooks, named Chromebook Plus. Through it, Google is targeting a number of laptops with a focus on productivity, which come with higher performance, 8GB RAM and higher memory, 128GB and higher storage, and are equipped with 1080p+ cameras.
Google also specifies that computers with Chromebook Plus certification will come with at least Intel Core i3 Gen-12 or AMD Ryzen3 700 chips – and higher. Each laptop should also have a full HD IPS display or better.
With high processing power as well, users can use a number of artificial intelligence powered features, including on Adobe Photoshop and other applications.
Like other Chromebooks, users can also enjoy built-in Google features, including Magic Eraser support on Google Photos, Google Drive automatic sync support, Google Meet video call facility, and so on.
A number of manufacturers will start offering laptops under the Chromebook Plus category, including Acer, Asus, HP and Lenovo.
