Google today announced their latest processing chip that will power the Pixel 8 and Pixel 8 Pro smartphones. This new chip is known as the Tensor G3.
Tensor G3 comes with a focus on artificial intelligence, bringing more powerful processing to a number of artificial intelligence-based features – right on the device. In addition to artificial intelligence support, Google said the Tensor G3 comes with the ability to run generative features on the device – one of the hot topics of the year. It also makes Google the first in the market to offer such integration on phones sold to the public.
This Tensor G3 chip powers the Pixel 8, and comes with a machine learning model that is 2 times higher than the Pixel 6.
Google also emphasized that the Pixel 8 is the first phone to also include support for the text-to-speech model used in Google's data centers. This is also achieved through the use of the Tensor G3 chip with a 4nm build.
In addition to processing power and artificial intelligence support, Tensor G3 also comes with security support along with Titan M2 core support – making the Pixel safer than others.
