Group Google Meet Calls Now Support 1080p Resolution

Google Meet is one of our favorite teleconferencing platforms. In fact every monthly meeting will usually use this platform. A common problem is that the video resolution is limited to 720p even when using a 4K web camera.

Recently, Google Meet started supporting group video calls with 1080p resolution. However, this feature is turned off by default and can only be used when users use a high-resolution webcam such as the Jabra PanaCast 20.

At the same time, shared screen content also now supports 1080p resolution instead of 720p. Only for now, this 1080p group video calling feature is limited to enterprise users only. Regular users are currently limited to individual calls if subscribing to Google One 2TB.
