Yesterday, we saw Bank Negara Malaysia announcing that a number of major banks will waive transaction fees on micro and small businesses that use DuitNow QR.
Several banks have also announced that they will waive DuitNow QR transaction charges, including Maybank and Public Bank, in addition to CIMB which waives it until early 2024.
In addition, Hong Leong Bank and RHB Bank have also expressed their support and will waive transaction charges for DuitNow QR until a certain period of time. For information, as previously explained, transaction charges are for sellers and retailers, and not for public users.
With this announcement, we may see some other banks also announce the same thing in the near future.
