Indian Government Wants To Send Astronauts To The Moon By 2040


 In conjunction with the launch of the TV-D1 space capsule that will take place tomorrow, October 21, 2023, the Indian government, through their Prime Minister, Narendra Modi has made a new announcement about their space program.


According to the announcement, he said that they will build and launch their own space station by 2035, and will send the first Indian astronaut to the moon in 2040.



All of these announcements and the launch of the TV-D1 are part of the Gaganyaan mission, which also includes 20 massive tests and three unmanned rocket launches into space. The launch of the TV-D1 rocket is their biggest test so far, which will determine whether they are ready for the official Gagaanyan-1 launch in 2025 which will involve three astronauts.


The country's future space plan also includes a mission to orbit the planet Venus and also to launch a rover on the planet Mars. The timeline for these projects is unknown at this time.
